The Council has confirmed its list of planned road resurfacing work for 2015/16. This will see roads across York receive much needed improvement works.
These resurfacing works will improve the standard of the city’s roads. Smoother road surfaces will reduce wear and tear on vehicles, reduce fuel consumption and reduce carbon emissions.
The Liberal Democrat Deputy Council Leader, Cllr Keith Aspden, said:
“We welcome the recent announcement of the roads across York that will be resurfaced over the next year. York’s roads have been long overdue these improvement works.
“The new administration has made frontline services across York our priority for the next 4 years. In our emergency budget last week we have provided an extra £250,000 towards road resurfacing across York. We will be seeing more improvements in York’s infrastructure like these over the next 4 years.”
In Copmanthorpe, the resurfacing of School Lane and Tadcaster Road was completed in June.
Both Main Street and Hallcroft Lane are also due to be resurfaced as part of this plan: –
The work on Main Street is scheduled to take place between the 10th and 21st August (from the junction with Wilstrop Farm Road to points just beyond war memorial: Trowel House Farm; and No. 3 Main Street).
The work on Hallcroft Lane is scheduled to take place between the 7th and 18th September (from Horseman Lane to Manor Heath – including parts of the crossroads with Manor Heath).
